Abstract:
Transport processes are one of the key factors influencing the efficiency of supply chains. Continuous monitoring of events, errors or delays can contribute to reducing logistics costs, as well as optimizing activities throughout the supply chain. For this reason, tools for monitoring information flow, especially in transport processes, are of great importance for the efficiency of supply chains. The global scale of operations, international transport corridors and the use of intermodal transport make standardizing data flow between business partners in the supply chain very difficult. The multitude of solutions used to monitor data makes it practically impossible to use a single, dedicated solution. Business practice therefore forces the need to integrate TMS systems, electronic platforms, with digital technologies in order to optimize logistics activities in the supply chain. The aim of this research was to identify the possibilities of integrating electronic transport platforms with IT systems, as the first stage of the digitization of supply chains on a global scale.
