Abstract:
Workplace health and safety is the main issue and shall not be understated for employees especially who works on high-risk working environment, including ground handling activities. In recent years, much attention has been paid to the safety climate and its roles in decreasing the number of workplace injuries. However, there is a limited number of researches regarding safety climate on ground handling activities. We use the concept of safety climate to understand how it impacts the safety outcomes mediated by safety behavior. Four hypotheses are outlined to study this relationship. Through the results of this study, we will have a better understanding of safety climate and its impact on decreasing level of workplace near-misses and injuries, with the involvement of safety behavior as a mediating variable. We will also study which dimensions of safety climate that have a stronger impact on safety outcomes.
