Abstract:

The article reviews the concept of the mission of enterprises, the structure of research surveys, including the BOST survey. The place and factors describing the mission at the Toyota House and in the mentioned survey were determined. Surveys, involving respondents determining the importance of factors: quality, costs, work safety, implementation time, crew morale (they describe the mission in the TPS system). The BOST survey was carried out in three companies: a manufacturer of hubcaps and car decorations, a manufacturer of bread and pastry, a manufacturer of lighting equipment. It was shown that regardless of the type of production, the first three places were occupied by factors: quality, costs, and work safety. In the case of the first two companies, the order of the factors analyzed, built using average scores, proved to be the same: quality costs, quality, work safety, staff morale. Analysis of the relationship between factor importance assessments using preferences revealed details of built series. It was revealed that in a number of factors important for the first of these companies, the factors: quality and safety at work showed similarity to each other (criterion of similarity of 10% of the scale). The distance between these factors is 3.3% of the scale, the distance between factors: cost and quality 13.2% of the scale, while the total length is 0.93 units. In the case of the second of the mentioned companies, there was no case of similarity of factors in terms of preferences. Respondents in a company manufacturing lighting equipment believe that their enterprise is important to safety at work, followed by quality and costs in the third place. In the constructed series of validity for the data of this enterprise, no case of similarity of factors in terms of preferences was found. An assessment of the significance of diversity of average scores for the obtained sets of scores was also carried out. The information obtained confirmed previous relationships between the factors. The content of the mission for the surveyed enterprises was formulated.
