Abstract:
The article presents a comparative analysis of the seaports of Świnoujście and Gdynia, focusing on their transport accessibility and competitiveness within the logistics market. Key aspects such as berth length, the number of vessels handled, and container throughput volume are considered to provide a comprehensive picture of each port's performance. A regression analysis was employed to assess the extent to which infrastructure, vessel accommodation capacity, and container handling capabilities impact port turnover and significance in international supply chains. The findings indicate that the Port of Gdynia, with its well-developed infrastructure and capacity for higher container throughput, plays a pivotal role as a competitive and transport-accessible port. Although the Port of Świnoujście benefits from substantial berthing resources, it demonstrates lower efficiency in container handling and vessel throughput, suggesting that its potential could be better leveraged through further investments in infrastructure and transshipment logistics. Conclusions drawn from the analysis underscore the importance of development strategies focused on optimizing infrastructure and transport accessibility, which form the foundation for strengthening the competitive position of the ports in the region.
