Abstract:
While the use of SMS is increasingly researched in the world in the context of health care, studies about the use of Facebook as seeking support and awareness about Covid-19 is missing. It remains unclear how we can use the Facebook content for the data collection of qualitative This paper presents findings of a netnography qualitative method of people’s user behavior on the Facebook as a platform for Covid-19 promotion in Tunisia. We analyzed some videos shared on Facebook pages using manual thematic analysis. Findings show that the majority Tunisian people don't prefer using Facebook for acquiring healthcare information. Hospitals and other healthcare service providers in Tunisia are not utilizing Facebook platform appropriately to encourage users' awareness.
This paper focused on Facebook, it will be interesting to answer the same problematic on another social media platform likewise Twitter and so on. The Tunisian health authorities can utilize Facebook for Corona pandemic in order to inform the public about the disease’s symptoms, the risk factors that can spread Covid-19.There is a need for a discussion regarding the viability and necessity of health organizations in Tunisia utilizing Facebook to improve public health activities.
The uniqueness of this research is to identify how Facebook can be seeking support and awareness about Covid-19 virus by using the Facebook’s content for data collection as qualitative research.
