Abstract:
Local governments units are required to be efficient, effective, professionalize management, to be open, to respond quickly, and to treat citizens as active participants. In response to these requirements, crowdsourcing is becoming a strategy for local governance units, and a new tool for policy-making, a policy tool. In addition, crowdsourcing is also becoming a new way of civic empowerment and a new step in e-government. The commencement, success of a crowdsourcing initiative and acquiring potential benefits from its implementation is dependent, to a large extent, on the attitudes of municipal managers. The aim of article is the identification of the antecedents of crowdsourcing adoption among public managers. The research is based on quantitative, survey methodology. The data were collected using a survey questionnaire administered to 205 mayors and managers in local governments in Poland and analyzed using correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The impact of the paper is assessment of usfullness of crowdsourcing e-governance local goverments units in Poland. Crucial research problems are also: understanding the level of awareness of crowsourcing utility of local govermants stakeholders and identyfing obstacles in its implementing.
