Mobile Applications for Location and Access to Places of Interest: A Systematic Review

Abstract:

With the passing of years, the market has undergone a technological transformation, making the business environment more competitive. Thus, companies such as those in the automotive mechanics sector, which is mostly composed of micro and small businesses, cannot continue to work in traditional ways. To be competitive and meet the demands of the environment, it is necessary to seek advantages, such as the implementation of technologies. Currently, people are tied to smartphones, PCs, and laptops for communication, work, information searches, etc. This paper is an exhaustive review of documents published between 2016 and 2020, which have been extracted from 10 academic sources; 100 of these articles were selected by means of search queries. By applying a quality-criteria assessment, 81 definitive documents were obtained. From this study, the research questions were answered, showing that the development and use of mobile applications is relevant in broader areas and generate great competitive advantages.
