Application of a Synthetic Measure to Assess the Financial Condition of a Company – The Dynamic Approach

Abstract:

The assessment of the company's financial condition is based on financial indicators that describe various aspects of the business entity's operations. Conclusions drawn from the analysis of individual indicators may be contradictory. Therefore, the ratio analysis should be supplemented with additional analytical tools, which will allow for a synthetic assessment of the company's financial condition. The aim of the article is to propose a method for a comprehensive assessment of the company's financial situation. To assess the financial condition, the ratio analysis and one of the methods of multivariate comparative analysis (MCA) were used, i.e., a synthetic measure was constructed. The results of the study are presented based on the example of a company representing the chemical industry – the AZOTY SA company. The article uses a dynamic approach, which allowed to observe the shaping of the financial situation of the economic entity over time.
