Application of a Virtual Assistant in the Adaptive Control of the Machining Process of a Cast Iron Hub on a CNC Machine – A Case Study

Abstract:

The article presents an innovative approach to the management of production processes through the implementation of a virtual assistant (eAssistant), operating within the original concept of the Intelligent Integration and Automation of Information Systems (SIIA ITS). The research focuses on the development and verification of an adaptive control model for the machining of a cast iron hub on a CNC lathe, using advanced artificial intelligence algorithms. The architecture of the eAssistant system and the methodology of its integration with the existing production infrastructure were presented. The conducted research showed a significant improvement in the efficiency of the production process by optimizing processing parameters and reducing downtime. Particular attention is paid to aspects of cooperation between the system and the operator, emphasizing the effectiveness of eAssistant as a tool supporting decision-making in real-time. The research results confirm that the proposed solution contributes to increasing the flexibility and efficiency of production processes while offering the possibility of adapting to changing technological conditions.
