Abstract:
A financial crisis is an awkward situation that no person or company wants to face. In Colombia, it is common to find people and companies that have had financial crises given the low level of financial education. Most countries implement financial education programs to improve the living conditions of the population and contribute to the nation's economic growth. Government economic policies and economic conditions influence the behavior and financial results of the industry including SMEs. A quantitative investigation was carried out in small and medium enterprises located in Bogotá. The selected SMEs responded to a survey through their owners or administrators. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the level of financial knowledge and its correspondence with the current state of SMEs in Bogotá.
