Abstract:
The main aim of the paper is to evaluate the chances of future technology implementation. To assess the chances the experts’ opinions on the expected time of implementation on the industrial scale of the considered technologies were used. The experts’ opinions were obtained by Delphi analysis within the energy foresight carried out by Central Mining Institute in Katowice (Poland). Due to the fact that the results reached are equivocal (they are burdened with a high level of a subjective view of experts) and imprecise, instead of using classical methods of classification, the fussy sets theory is used. The following sets were defined: high, moderate and low chances of technology implementation.
The results of the carried analysis show that the highest chances of implementation (from the point of view of the expected time of implementation) are of those technologies which base on fossil fuels (coal preparation, oil and gas industry) and management of burning by-products.
