Application of Gamification in Marketing Activities

Abstract:

Gamification as new term became popular in 2010 though introduced earlier (Groh, 2012). Although gamification term related to a new conception Meloni and Gruener (2012) claims that the game mechanics and elements have been deployed by several companies in their marketing activities. However, it is important to note that gamification research encountered wide recognition and interest from both academics and practitioners since 2010.
