Abstract:
The current state of the world economy and overall global changes are forcing society to adopt new ways and approaches to life. The essential basis is education for sustainable development from an early age. An annual pedagogical experiment took place at selected elementary schols in the Czech Republic, attended by 352 children aged 7-12. It was not an official project of the Ministry of Education, but an individual decision by school heads to participate in the educational experiment: "Learning and teaching innovations for 21 century"
Using methods of Crossover Learning, Gamification, Learning by Science, Learning
in Life, Changemaking, Incidental Learning, and Forest pedagogics the four spheres came out of the analysis of the collected data.
- Social competencies
- Motivation and self esteem
- Physical skills
- Sustainable development insight
Forest pedagogics as a form involving all modern trends and innovations contributes significantly to the development of education for sustainable development and should be included in the school curriculum in the form of a school educational program. Parallel is the close cooperation between the school and the Forest and Ecological Center.
