Abstract:
This paper focuses over the ethnic aspects posed in keen relation with the discrimination of Roma population on the labour market in Romania after 2010. The study investigates the wage gaps between Roma minority and the neighbouring non-Roma community, using the traditional Blinder-Oaxaca decomposition methodology implemented as package for R statistical computing software environment. The raw data that is used in our research was provided by the 2011 United Nations Development Program for Roma survey, and is further processed. In this field of research, the study brings added value and light on the issue of discrimination between Roma neighbouring non-Roma in Romania.
