Abstract:

We appreciate that the systemic vision on business organizations provides a better understanding of the internal mechanism of operation of these entities; Similarly, chaos theory provides, we believe, a perspective that completes the understanding of the behavior shown by companies over time. Certain characteristics specific to chaotic systems (non-linear dynamics, the existence of fractals, the extension to a natural attractor etc.) can be identified in medium and large firms' behavior over a period of n years. In this paper we try to argue the existence of such analogies invoked and that chaos theory is not reflected only in business firm’s environment.
