An Architectural Model for e-Learning in Entrepreneurship using Agent-based Simulation

Abstract:

In recent years, many entrepreneurship education programs have focused on the development of competences, adopting innovative learning approaches, such as educational simulations. The increasing availability of the simulation resources also contributes to the proliferation of simulation in entrepreneurship education. The paper presents an architectural model for e-learning in entrepreneurship using agent-based simulations. The architecture of the e-learning platform was defined using an ARCHIMICA model, v.1, aligned to IEEE 1471 standard. All modeling levels (business, information and technology levels) were considered. The defined architecture model includes not only the structural components, but also the main dynamic elements of the e-learning platform, such as processes, functions, services, specific events, etc. offering support for the development of the agent-based platform. Based on the proposed architectural model, the authors identified directions for further improvements.
