Abstract:
In recent years, there has been a large flow of increasing interest in research in the field of distance education and its effectiveness. The process of digitalization affects all spheres of public life, including education. Many educational institutions are beginning to introduce and use online courses that they have set up or run independently. This study focuses on statistical analysis of participants in the online course to identify the main target audience, the impact of gender or age on the quality of discipline. The sample includes individuals from 15 to 55 years of age who are employed in various fields of activity. The number of registered participants per course is 1394. The time period of the survey consists of the results of a survey of one course stream. In the course of the study it was found out that such characteristics as region, gender and specialization have a significant impact on the obtained assessments during the study of the discipline "Economy of the enterprise". Humanities and economics students were the least interested, while technical students were the most interested. The results are quite obvious and can be interpreted logically, as technical students are the most interested in obtaining additional education in a new, different economic field and are the main target audience.
