Abstract:
The present paper aims to conduct a literature review about two concepts considered to be of great interest and actuality, both in academic and managerial literature: talent management and digitalization. We believe that the paper will demonstrate a high degree of novelty and interest, based on the fact that it tries to identify how these concepts are connected. Based on the reviewed specialized literature, the paper tries to formulate an unitary definition in terms of talent management, thus trying to bring more clarifications regarding the definition of this concept. We will present an overtime analysis regarding the evolution of the number of published papers on the topic approached and we will identify the countries where the largest number of papers has been published, by using the information available in Web of Science and Scopus. In the end of the paper, a bibliometric analysis of talent management will be presented, in order to identify how strongly these topics are connected. The results were not according to the expectations of the analysis of the specialized literature, considering the fact that we only found a weak link strength between talent management and the other analyzed concept. This is most likely due to the fact that some of the papers covering talent management topic have been written mostly without referring to this term, and, on the other hand, to the degree of novelty of the digitalization topic. We believe that these results offer the premises of future research regarding the relationship between these concepts.
