Abstract:

Business intelligence (BI) based systems have become indispensable for organizations in all activity areas. BI is changing the industry through its ability to generate data-driven decisions. Its benefits extend to much more than decision making which we will see later in this article. After reviewing the different stages of digital maturity that organizations go throw to use BI in their operations we will focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and its integration into the whole BI process. After thoroughly exploring the stages of the BI process, we will examine which ones AI can be integrated into, the benefits of using AI, and considerations to take into account when integrating it. We will also discuss limitations and ethical issues that may constrain the integration of AI into the BI process.
