Abstract:

In the phenomenology of poverty it is the product of the existing power structure in society and how certain social processes create poverty and blocks out chances for particular social groups or certain individuals. Poverty can be seen from several viewpoints: an aggregate that can take two forms, relative poverty and absolute poverty. This paper aims to present poverty level in the European context determined by the following socio-economic aspects: inequality of income distribution, poverty categories: women, men and social exclusion.
