Assessing Employees Organizational Commitment in Public Organizations in Saudi Arabia

Abstract:

Employee organizational commitment has not been extensively explored yet in public organization in Saudi Arabia and therefore, there has been still a big gap in academic research on this area in Saudi Arabia. For this reason, this study attempted to examine whether significant differences in the personal variables of employees could have different impact on the level of organizational commitment. The study sample consisted of 137 employees who work for a public organization in Saudi Arabia, resulting in a response rate of 74.5 percent. The three component model of organizational commitment was used to measure the level of organizational commitment. The one-way Analysis of Variance indicated that the only significant difference in organizational commitment mean scores was found when age and education level groups were the independent variables.
