Abstract:

This paper will assess on the effect of social media towards face to face communication among student in higher education institution. Nowadays, social media seen as a platform to connect and communicate with people, join online meeting, video conference and others. It is significantly will affect the face to face communication particularly student in real life. Previous scholar find out social media could be a platform to connect with the family member especially with current pandemic Covid19, to avoid the gathering. However, other study has been conduct show the negative effect of social  media among university student because it is hamper real life experience of student itself. So, social media show some positively and negatively effect to student towards face to face interaction with other people. Literature survey has been selected as methodology to exploring the effect of social media toward face to face communication among student in higher education institution. This paper also highlight on the significantly role of social media in higher education institution during pandemic Covid19.
