Abstract:
The change in the paradigm of economic development towards the concept of sustainable development is reflected in structural transformations in the labour market. The labour market is the area of ongoing socio-economic changes as regards the 'greening' of the economy. Proper orientation of the development of the green labour market can contribute to improving the competitiveness of economies. Actions to create a green economy were undertaken by the European Commission, encouraging similar for member states. The aim of the article was to identify conditions affecting the development of green jobs in the European Union countries. It was also pointed out that they may be the economic growth of individual areas. The article presents the results of empirical research on the implementation of the concept of green jobs in the member countries. The importance of macroeconomic and social factors on the development of the green labour market has been demonstrated. Panel regression has been used in the study. The time range covers the years 2000-2016.
