Abstract:
The use of assistive technologies in improving the quality of life of people with disabilities is a trend showing increasing popularity. This is undoubtedly influenced by the development of new technologies, including artificial intelligence. This article focuses on analyzing the role those new technologies play in providing greater independence, functional efficiency and access to cultural resources for this population.
Through a review of the available literature and an analysis of current technological trends, the article will analyze the impact of new technologies, particularly assistive technologies, on the guarantee of the human rights of people with disabilities. The study will focus on identifying the benefits that new technologies bring to people with disabilities, including increased independence, improved daily activities and expanded opportunities for social participation.
In addition, the paper will examine the current legal regulations that guarantee access to digital technologies for people with disabilities, taking into account the EU legal framework in particular. This will include a discussion of existing legislation and possible gaps in regulations that may hinder the full use of new technologies by people with disabilities.
This article aims to raise awareness of the importance of assistive technologies for people with disabilities and the need to ensure that they have full access to these technologies in order to realize their human rights.
