Attenuation Assessment using HTZ Warfare Environment

Abstract:

Designing and operation effectiveness assessing radio networks is mainly based on propagation models. These models are the basis for the evaluation of the attenuation that affects the range of radio transmitters. In this way, it is possible to assess the connections between individual network nodes. In those analyses, the topography and building placements are essential from the viewpoint of the actual emitter ranges. Hence, relevant maps and clutters for urbanized areas should be included. The HTZ Warfare environment from the ATDI company gives such opportunities. In this paper, we present the possibility of using this software to determine the attenuation between network nodes. On the other hand, these tasks are carried out by the so-called radio environment maps (REMs). The HTZ Warfare software offers excellent possibilities that can be used to design radio networks and create REMs.
