Availability Modeling with Two Types of failures using Secure Data Maintenance from a Blockchain

Abstract:

The study of the manufacturing systems maintenance is mandatory and essential in order to grow the production efficiency and competitiveness. Therefore, the monitoring of performed maintenance activities is an important process in production setups and a blockchain can be the solution to share full transparency of the maintenance parameters. This research focuses on building a maintenance policy, considering that the products defects are caused due to machine malfunction in order to predict the availability of the system. More precisely, we present a modeling scenario for two types of failures: mechanical and electrical. The failure and repair behavior of a machine was modeled using Markov chains. An applied example is presented to illustrate the method. Arena software has been used to fit the statistic distribution concerning the time between failures and repair time, and CodeBlocks software to solve the equations from Markov chains.
