Barriers to Cooperation between Science and Business – The Case Study of Poland

Abstract:

The main impulse for productivity growth in developed economies are innovations, education, research and development. One of the solutions to support this process is creation of special the institution like Technology Transfer Center (TTC). The first part of the paper presents: the essence, concept, genesis and scope of activity of TTC. The next part of the paper presents the results own research concerning the barriers into cooperation between science and business.  The last part of the paper presents the conclusions from the research. The paper presents the new view for the problem of cooperation between science and business because the opinion of the universities’ employees was presented, not as usually the point of view of entrepreneurs. The research was conducted as well as the public and non-public universities.
