Benchmarking Women’s Entrepreneurship Worldwide: A Literature Review

Abstract:

Understanding female entrepreneurship is essential to fully grasp the entire field of entrepreneurship and human behavior. Research on this topic helps us ask better questions, not just about why women become entrepreneurs, but also how it affects things like jobs, wealth creation, education, and the labor market (Minniti & Naudé, 2010).

This article aims to review existing research on female entrepreneurship. We'll explore what motivates women to start businesses and the challenges they face in different situations. Our goal is to provide a broad picture of female entrepreneurship worldwide.

We searched through several research databases like Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Web of Science to find relevant articles. We used software to manage and analyze over 200 references, and after careful review, narrowed it down to 16 articles that best fit our criteria.
