Abstract:
This paper presents the Generalized Divisor Method (GDM), which extends classical divisor methods by introducing individual divisors for the participants in the division. The proposed approach makes it possible to model a much broader area of the problem of dividing indivisible goods, covering not only proportional divisions, but also equal and degressively proportional divisions. The article provides a formal definition of GDM, shows its relation to classical divisor methods, and how, by means of the selection of individual divisors, the trade-off between equality and proportionality in the allocation problems can be precisely shaped.
