Abstract:

This study aims to explore how a new technology or idea could penetrate a collectivist farming community. This research employs the social learning theory. Semi-structured and probing interviews were employed with 12 farmer participants. The findings suggest that in a collectivist society such as farming, becoming an early adopter of a new idea or technology is a bold step that can lead to a ripple effect and acceptance.
