Abstract:
Social entrepreneurship is an area of economic activity characterized by the interconnection of economic and social goals. The social economy has been recognized and regulated in many member states of the EU. The given survey reflects the situation of Slovakia in the area of social economy. The purpose of this study is to analyze the conditions of business in the environment of social economy in behalf of public or community interest in Slovakia. In a wider context, it describes the rules for grants of state aid to authorized subjects of the social economy. The result is an identification of types of businesses in the social economy area, particularly on the one hand that one of a community-orientated business, which aims at achieving a positive social impact in the fulfillment of community interests, and on the other hand a publicly beneficial enterprise, whose objective is to achieve a positive social impact by fulfilling a public interest.
