Business Intelligence for Decision Making in the Sales Area – A Systematic Literature Review

Abstract:

In the world today, large companies handle a high volume of data, making it difficult to analyze efficient decision making. This problem has led to a large number of research into the implementation of business intelligence (BI) to improve the management decision making, achieve strategic objectives that help generate value to the organization, and position themselves in front of their competitors. This document provides a systematic review of the literature from different studies that have been carried out since 2015 using BI in different areas of businesses. This review provides a comprehensive statistical analysis of specific information extracted from 97 articles published between 2015 and 2020. The results provided in this document show interesting results about the effectiveness of BI implementation in different areas of organizations and how this tool can have a great influence on effective decision making, thus achieving a competitive advantage in organizations.
