Business Intelligence Use in SMEs: A Case of the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Business Intelligence (BI) is able to support decision-making process of enterprises´ management enabling to provide the right information, at the right time. This article aims to investigate the scope of BI implementation among the Small and Medium enterprises in the Czech Republic and their attitude towards it. BI and its tools and possibilities are described here as well as methodology and results of the survey that took place in the Czech Republic in 2017 among Small and Medium enterprises (primary and secondary sector of the economy). The results show that the usage of BI is not very common and there is mainly a negative attitude towards its implementation. The reasons and proposal for improvement of the situation are discussed at the end of the paper.
