Abstract:

Data Quality (DQ) has become an active area of Management Information Systems (MIS) research. The growth of Data Warehouses (DW) and the direct access of information from various sources by users have increased the need for high quality data in organizations. This article shows a case study applied to a real environment and presents the results and difficulties encountered in application of the Total Quality data Management (TQdM) methodology for Data Quality improvement. All process phases are documented and suggestions are given to tackle the problems encountered. Further refinement is recommended with the addition of new processes to original methodology.
