Abstract:

Container shipping industry transformation influence on all its stakeholders. Seaports are the nodes in international maritime transport chains and plays significant role in the sea container transportation. Nowadays they face with new challenges and opportunities, related with the container shipping industry integration, consolidation and digitalization. This paper provides an overview on the current stage of the container shipping industry and evaluates the blockchain technology implementation as a tool for capabilities acceleration within a Smart Ports network.
