Career decisions and motivation for learning – elements of interest and qualitative analysis for students in engineering studies

Abstract:

The current paper aims to conduct a small scale study on how students in technical education motivate their decision to study in this field - The Petroleum and Gas Engineering program – on the one hand, and on the other, on how they assess this decision of initial vocational training. We are also interested in capturing their degree of satisfaction with attending this scientific program, and the elements which underlie the motivation and support the learning efforts or, on the contrary, those which inhibit learning. The results of the applied questionnaires are analyzed qualitatively.
