Catering Information System Using Biometric Technology in Academic Institutions

Abstract:

This paper focuses on a case study of a computerised Catering Information System using Biometric Technology recently implemented at Sultan Qaboos University to replace a manual system that was used to handle the catering services for many years. The new automated Catering information System caused a huge reduction in operation cost. It's also created an efficient and effective working environment. Work procedure was re-engineered to be able to adopt and operate the automated system in a proper manner.
