Abstract:

Nowadays, the property development industry is currently increasing as compared to the previous year. The commercial development sector is increasingly being carried out in major cities. At the same time, demand for real estate has increased as a result of the development of construction projects in Malaysia. However, there is still a problem of abandoned development that has slightly polluted the surrounding areas in more and more areas of Johor Bahru city center, it also poses a negative view of the local community as well as visitors from all corners of the country especially the state of Johor located in a very strategic position adjacent to the Singapore state, thus making the state of Johor a center of attraction for Singaporeans coming to this state. this study will focus on explaining the phenomenon of recovery of this abandoned development project more clearly, in terms of interpretation and the challenges faced by the developer in handling abandoned projects. With the content analysis approached, this study found few elements that distract the development process. Concerned on the construction cost and period of the development, this study will be a great guide to the potential developer in producing the better way of construction process in the future.
