Characterizing Elements of Public Funding: A Path to Define Social Benefit Oriented Investment

Abstract:

Investment of society capital provides development of new trend into investment culture in all economical regions. Beyond bank capital, risk capital and other investment forms significantly raises role of public funding and governmental mediators who disseminate this funding. Public funding reaches unique proposed aim – investment for social benefit and common wealth so existing knowledge in field of investment needs to be developed upon this novation. This article provides brief analysis of multiple elements of public funding that allows to identify common and different features leading to development of public funding definition in frame of investments.  During research there were used qualitative and quantitative methods (document analysis, statistical data analysis) and contenanalysis. In this paper authors analysis five most common elements of public funding foreseen to be used in further development of public funding definition. An analysis of the literature is then proposed, and organized according three key features of public funding (investment type, investment objects and investment impact fields). The shortcomings in the literature are then discussed and significant urgent problems that must be solved through research in order to meet management challenges for public funding governance.
