Choice of Medium in Knowledge Transfer Processes in the context of 2nd-Product-Lifecycle-Strategies

Abstract:

Second-Product lifecycle strategies apply in the problem area of product lifecycles closing in of modern Hightech devices and the increasingly environmental damage through electronical scrap. They provide a procedure model to the transport into a second product life cycle. Especially the small and middle enterprises characterize themselves as a target group for that since a majority does not fit in new, mobile Hightech devices in the own enterprise yet although the benefit and the successful use of the devices is already known  (cf. Gerpott 2005]). Within the project “2nd-Tech-Cycle” supported by the BMBF Second-Product-lifecycle-strategies are currently tested by means of Smartphones as e.g. Blackberrys in collaboration with Research in Motion (RIM) and T-Mobile.
