Abstract:

Business Process Management - as one of the dynamically developing disciplines of management and cloud computing - as a strategic direction of the evolution of IT solutions, together create business, management and technical potential for enterprises, as well as constitute an interesting area of ​​scientific research. In the traditional model, Business Processes Management in cloud computing is performed with the support of services that correspond to the functionalities of Business Process Management System – usually it is called Business Process Management as a Service (BPMaaS), but in the Author's opinion a more appropriate term is Business Process Management System as a Service (BPMSaaS). Other possibilities, focused on outsourcing, are provided by Business Process as a Service (BPaaS).               Literature and numerous studies show that despite IT capabilities, enterprises have a problem with managing business processes. The sources of these problems are seen, among others in competences, the lack of a methodical approach, the dynamics of the company and its environment. For this reason, a business process management model was developed, which assumes the use of the possibilities and potential of BPMSaaS and BPaaS services. The model was also enriched with elements of methodical process management along with dedicated functionalities and competency resources. The new class of service proposed in the model is Process of Business Process Management as a Service (PoBPMaaS). While working on the model, the author also structured the diverse and often ambiguous terminology related to Business Process Management and cloud computing. The aim of the article is to present the possibilities of Business Process Management with the use of cloud computing, structure the diverse and often ambiguous related terminology, present the challenges of Business Process Management taking into account the results of own research and finally present authorial model of process management in cloud computing – Cloud Business Process Management Model (CBPMM).
