Community and Human Resources Collaboration in Waste Management

Abstract:

Purpose – The present paper identifies new ways of adaptability for human resources in waste management and highlighting the challenges on how organizations influence and deeply can affect the sustainable development of areas and communities regarding the responsibilities related to waste collection and recycling. Methodology/approach - The research team used the concept of the "4 R", respectively reduction, reuse, recycling, recovery. This concept is attributed because it can optimize and increase product life, generating advantages for achieving a circular economy. Findings – Capabilities of human resources in waste management at the local level play a key role in communities' ability to use resources efficiently and make progress towards achieving a more circular economy.  The research problem arises from how we stimulate managers to generate proactive ideas to upgrade human resources in waste management and spread ecological education to communities. Research limitations/implications – The primary objective of the paper is to motivate managers to invest in special training of current employees according to the economic realities. Practical implications – Waste management will develop innovatively over the years. For an efficient and sustainable system, some useful strategies are needed to achieve the objectives, such as recycling, reuse, rethinking the current rules. Originality/value – Using appropriate creative tools, human resources management pays more attention to training processes, improvement, promotion, reward, all this leading to more substantiation of specific smart decisions.
