Abstract:

Basil crop occupies an important place in Romanian producers preferences of medicinal and aromatic plants. Their interest lies in the fact that due to the favorable climate conditions in Romania, basil Crop can provide a reasonably high yield, which means an income for farmers by making production quickly obtained both domestic and external. In 2016, at the Vegetable Research and Development Station (VRDS) - Buzau were studied 10 accessions of basil, the most representative one from germplasm collection of this species. The determinations was made on the main caracteristics of leaves, plant habitus and was determined the production of plant material fresh and dried plant material. The comparative analysis of results from trials undertaken highlight the economic value of basil crop.
