Comparative Analysis of Clil and Other Methods of Integration of Teaching a Foreign Language and Non-Linguistic Disciplines

Abstract:

In modern conditions of globalization and internationalization of the society, the importance of knowledge of a foreign language (primarily English) by university graduates at a level that would allow them to fully realize the potential of international professional communication is growing. Various methods are effective in solving this problem, allowing integrating the study of a foreign language and non-linguistic subjects: Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI), English for Specific Purposes (ESP), Content-Based Instruction (CBI), language immersion, etc. The conducted study revealed the similarities and differences of these methods to determine the possibilities of their practical use.
