Abstract:
The paper reveals the results of a comparative analysis of the motivation for training and development of employees in two different fields of activity: education and metallurgy. The analysis was based on the ideas of the lifelong learning concept. The authors believe that in modern society, lifelong learning throughout life has ceased to be just a concept, but has become a credo and an important feature of proactive people. The empirical part of the research involved 762 respondents (nmet. = 381; nedu. = 381). The results showed that there is a difference in the involvement of the respondents in the two analyzed areas in lifelong learning. Also, as a result, the difference in the motives of training and development of teachers and employees of metallurgical enterprises participating in the survey was revealed. At the same time, participants in both spheres who do not improve their professional level cite a high level of employment as one of the reasons for not undergoing training. In conclusion, it is noted that the results obtained in the work require in-depth studies of the motivation for continuous training of employees in both spheres in the future, as well as a multivariate analysis of variance of the data obtained.
