Abstract:
It happens often to most of us to travel back in those times during childhood when we were spending our holidays to the grandparents’ countryside house. In the modern society, more and more city people, eager to escape from the turmoil of the urban life, choose to spend their holidays in agritouristic farms. Clean air, friendly people and breathtaking landscape, together with fresh and delicious food are the ingredients of an unforgettable holiday for more and more tourists. Agritourism has deep roots in the EU, but no country on earth seems to have such special charm as Italy does. Its special character derives from the uniqueness of each region within the country. Although it cannot boast an experience like the Italian one, Romanian agritourism has experienced a spectacular development over the recent years. Due to the geographical diversity of each region, but also due to the type of agriculture and gastronomy, linguistic dialects, cultural and historical influences, the agritourism in Romania, as well as in Italy, experienced different evolutions and dimensions, being influenced by the specific particularities of these areas.
