Competencia Lingüística: Una Apreciación desde la Mirada Docente

Abstract:

Various studies of the results of the state tests at the secondary and higher education level, carried out by the Colombian Institute for the Evaluation of Education (ICFES), have shown that students have low levels of proficiency in language skills, specifically in reading comprehension, oral expression and written expression. The article presents the results of the research project Training in Academic Reading and Writing Processes for the Improvement of Linguistic Competences, whose objective was to design a transversal proposal of training in academic reading and writing processes that enhances the development of linguistic competences in the vocational training. The research, taking into account a mixed, concurrent design, concludes based on the appreciation of the teachers of the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education that, in the students, a basic level is seen in the development of the skills required for reading and writing. academic, and in turn a low level of development in linguistic skills associated with critical thinking, which is worrying due to the importance of this aptitude in the university environment, especially in the training of future teachers.
