Abstract:
The problem addressed in this paper addresses the concept of competitiveness at national and regional level in order to highlight the economic and criteria leading to the nation's welfare state. This welfare may be associated with the competitiveness, growth and quality of life and it is achieved due to increased urbanization and elimination of discrepancies between the regions of a country and between different countries. I consider that the development of cities by migration of large numbers of people, businesses and by attracting investment transforms these into economic engines of the economy. The definition of this phrase means benefits, development and support for regions and nations that benefit from the presence of powerful institutions. There are also highlighted the many areas needed in economic growth by improving connectivity between developed cities with high economic mass and underdeveloped cities.
