Abstract:
Contemporary enterprises operating on the market not only affect the development of the national economy but also influence the formation of the nearest social and environmental environment. Although their main purpose of activity are economic goals, along with their simultaneous realization, enterprises undertake a number of actions focused on the social and ecological environment as well. These activities are part of an increasingly common trend, which is the concept of sustainable entrepreneurship, understood as a continuous commitment of the entrepreneur to ethical behavior and contributing to economic development, while improving the quality of life of employees, society and environmental protection. However, the purpose of the article was to examine whether there is a relationship between the economic goals pursued by the enterprise and such activities undertaken by Polish enterprises in the SME sector. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that longer the company operates on the market, the more actions it undertakes that fit into the concept of sustainable entrepreneurship.
