Abstract:

The article briefly describes the methodological approaches necessary for studying the development of tourism in a certain territory. Attention is paid to the analysis of the experience of using conceptual documents for the formation of effective areas for the development of tourism. The authors study the experience of tourism development at the level of municipalities and summarize the results of using strategic documents for the development of tourism in the territory. The analysis shows that the active participation of authorities in the preparation and implementation of the concepts of tourism development, closely related to the overall direction of the social and economic development of the territory, increases the effectiveness of management of the tourist complex of the territory. On the example of the preparation of the Concept of Tourism Development in the Gatchina Municipal District, an example of possible directions for the development of tourism at the local level is shown.
